Metis Timekeeper: your hours, written down when they happen.

A personal time-tracking app for one person. Log your shifts, overtime, court time and mileage, then hand payroll or a supervisor a time card you can stand behind. iPhone first, Android to follow.

The problem

Department time systems are clumsy, so people jot times in a notes app and do the math later.

By then nobody remembers why Tuesday ran two hours over, and overtime that cannot be explained is hard to justify. Timekeeper captures the time and the reason while you still know both.

It is built for law enforcement officers first, then fire and EMS, tradespeople and other field workers. It is for individuals only. There is no employer dashboard.

How it works

Quick enough to use at the end of a long shift.

Start and end
Start or end a shift with one tap, a spoken sentence, or the timestamp of a photo. On iPhone it works hands-free through Siri.
Notes
Add time-stamped notes during a shift, so the day's events are already on record.
Overtime reasons
When a shift runs late, Timekeeper asks "Why did you stay late?" and offers your notes as one-tap answers.
Mileage
Odometer readings for each vehicle, entered by voice, typing or a photo of the dash. No GPS tracking.
Corrections
Fix an entry by hand whenever you need to. Every change is kept in a full change history.

Your pay rules, not ours

A short questionnaire on first run sets Timekeeper up for how you are actually paid.

Changing a rule never rewrites a past pay period.

  • Pay period.
  • What triggers overtime.
  • Schedules and rotations, such as 24 on, 48 off.
  • Meal breaks.
  • Court and callback minimums.
  • The hour format your employer uses.

What you get out

Home screen
Your hours against the overtime line, with a projected total for the pay period.
Copy sheet
Your hours laid out in the format your employer's system wants, ready to copy across.
PDF time card
Daily detail, regular and overtime totals, overtime reasons, mileage and signature lines. Entries are marked to show how they were captured and whether they were edited.

Private by design

  • No accounts.
  • No ads.
  • No usage tracking.
  • No company server. Your records live on your phone.
  • Optional backup to your own iCloud or Google Drive.
  • Crash reports contain technical data only. They are on by default and you can turn them off.
